Automotive Maintenance Overview
You may not have enough skills and knowledge to verify the catalyst car. Your fuel pump may be just outside your comfort zone. In addition, the head gasket cylinder block, pistons, and may be a long list of parts that you are happy to have your mechanic handle. But there are several points of service you must log in to the habit of checking on a regular basis.

Motor Oil
Of all fluids circulating around the car, it’s probably the most important thing to check on a regular basis. Your engine needs a constant and sufficient supply of oil to protect moving parts against friction. Oil lubricates these places. The problem is to burn a few cars or oil leakage, without their owners realizing it. As a result, lower and less accessible for lubrication.
If low levels may persist, the result could be disastrous. Overheated engine can quickly save expensive damage. Remove dipstick, wipe it off, putting it back, and pull it out again. If the oil level is lower, add more.
Liquid
Ironically, many people who regularly check the oil in your car, neglect to check the fluid. Leaks can develop around the seals and gaskets. If the liquid level drop, you may have trouble crossing. In the end, your transmission will – as your engine – suffer expensive damage.
Keep your car running and pull out the probe. If the level is low, replenish it to the full marker.
Oil, Fuel and air filters
You should replace the oil filter every other time you change the oil. Some mechanics suggest to do so are often not necessary, but it is a small investment to protect the engine.
Your fuel and air filters should be different. The former should last for years (if it is OEM-certified). A good rule is to be replaced every three years. The latter should be visually inspected every time you change the oil. Your work is the air filter to prevent dirt and debris from entering the engine, but also allows air to pass through. This will eventually become blocked and must be replaced.
Battery
Your car battery will have two posts (positive and negative), to which the cables are attached. Corrosion builds up over time. This corrosion could ultimately prevent the charge from the trip of the posts connected cables.
Whenever you check the oil and fluid, pay attention to the battery and clean the office when necessary. Most auto supply stores have a special wire-based cleaning you can buy at a price below $ 10.
Bus
Steps on the tires will wear out to the point of need to invest in a number of substitutions. In addition, they gradually lose pressure, affecting their response to your steering commands. Check them every two or three weeks. You can measure each tire tread depth with a special gauge (it costs a few dollars). You can also check the pressure with a digital indicator (it usually costs less than $ 20). They can be purchased at any store, delivery vehicles. If your level is seriously worn out tires, buy a new set of tires. If pressure is low, add more air.
